Jonathan James Tracy

1965 - 2026

Jonathan James (Jon) Tracy, 60, of Seymour passed away at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, March 25, after a battle with lung cancer.

Born the eighth of nine children to the late Tom & Alberta (Zumhingst) Tracy in Seymour on August 25,1965, Jon was a 1983 graduate of Seymour High School and worked for O'Mara Contractors Inc. after serving in the US Navy on the USS Bagley.

Jon was active in county military organizations and proudly served as the Commander of the VFW Post 1083 in Crothersville and American Legion Post 89 in Seymour. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655 in Seymour.

He is survived by daughters Kimberly (Andrew) Pittman of Columbus and Gina (Attila) Tuenzuen of Offtringen, Switzerland; grandchildren Phoenix McCory and Dallas Smith of Columbus, and Memphis, Xavi, Indy, and AJ Tuenzuen of Switzerland; brothers Richard (Stephen Barksdale) Tracy of Tucson, AZ and Tom (Brenda) Tracy of Lutheran Lake & Tucson, AZ; and his sisters, Mary (Scott) Brown of Bear Lake, MI, and Sun City Center, FL, Kim (Jon) Griffith, Julia Aker, and Brenda (Keith Cockerham) Lawson of Seymour, as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a great-great niece.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, sister Teresa (Bill) Kramer, and brothers Pat (Debbie Collins) and Fred Tracy.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, April 10,and from 9:30-10:30AM Saturday, April 11 at Voss & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg will officiate a funeral service to follow at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
