Carlisle Funeral Home - TarboroJonas Raynor, 77, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Tarboro Church of God with service following at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Jonas was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas Raynor Jr. and Maggie Raynor.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Ann Pigg Harrell, Mary Frances Hamilton, Martha Jones, Millie Peaden, and Maggie Patricia Raynor (Robert Hatchel); brothers, Jerry Lee Raynor and Marvin R Raynor (Sharon); and many nieces and nephews.
Jonas dedicated 35 years of faithful service to Hart Mills Plant in Tarboro (formerly Ticaro Mills), along with employment at several other local establishments including Abrams, Classic Diner, and Bud’s Grill. He was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication throughout his career.
Jonas was a kind and compassionate soul who truly loved people, and in return, he was deeply loved by all who knew him. He was a devoted member of Tarboro Church of God, where he cherished his church family and remained steadfast in his faith.
At home, Jonas found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the companionship of his beloved cats, whom he adored.
