With the deepest love and heavy hearts, we share that our precious Jonathan Sergio Arocha
went home to be with Jesus on December 27, 2025, at the tender age of 11. He passed away
peacefully at home, surrounded by love, after a courageous journey with brain cancer.
Jonathan was born on December 17, 2014, in
San Antonio, Texas, to Samantha and Pablo
Aaron. He was affectionately known as Jon, Johnny Boy, and Teddy Bear, he was Mommy's
twin, sharing her heart, her smile, and a bond that could never be broken. From the moment he
entered this world, he filled it with warmth and joy. Jonathan had a natural way of making
people smile simply by being himself. His laughter, gentle spirit, and warrior heart brought
comfort and happiness to all who were blessed to know him. He faced every battle with
courage; even when the journey felt heavy, he remained strong, resilient, and full of hope,
teaching us all what true bravery looks like.
Jonathan loved Jesus with his whole heart. His faith was simple, pure, and joyful, and he shared
it with creativity and enthusiasm – making TikTok videos with his aunt and brothers, creating
Jesus-inspired edits, and openly expressing his love for God. His faith reflected who he was:
hopeful, sincere, and full of light.
He was kind, brave, and wonderfully adventurous. Jonathan loved animals, gaming on Roblox,
watching his favorite YouTubers, building with LEGO, turning blankets into forts, and riding his
bike alongside his brothers. He was fearless and competitive in the best way – always ready for
a race and proud of the 1st and 2nd place medals he earned in the Special Olympics.
Jonathan loved fast cars and lit up with excitement when he rode in a Slingshot with his
Grandpa – an experience he never forgot. His hoverboard go-kart brought him endless fun as
he zoomed around at top speed, completely fearless. He loved trying new things, whether it
was shooting BB guns with impressive aim or exploring the world with curiosity and confidence.
He was drawn to powerful creatures like dinosaurs, gorillas, and sharks, admiring their strength
and bravery. His favorite superhero, Black Panther, captured his heart, yet Jonathan also had
the softest affection for teddy bears and long, comforting hugs. He shared his love in special
ways – often signing "I love you" in American Sign Language or forming half a heart with his
hand for his aunts to complete. These simple gestures spoke volumes about his big, brave
heart.
Meeting his superheroes brought Jonathan unforgettable joy. One of his happiest moments
came when he met Spider-Man, along with Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Deadpool, at a
special church celebration lovingly created by family and friends to honor his warrior spirit.
Earlier, he met Spider-Man at his grandparents' Talamantez home, a day filled with excitement,
laughter, and wonder. Another beautiful celebration followed at the Arocha family ranch,
where Jonathan rode ATVs with his dad and brothers, smiling from ear to ear and laughing
freely – moments that reflected his fearless joy and bright spirit.
Animals were a constant source of comfort for Jonathan. His dog, Shadow, was his loyal
sidekick, while Panda the Pug brought him calm and companionship. Over the summer,
Jonathan welcomed his bearded dragon, Oscar, and loved holding him, watching him grow, and
caring for him.
Jonathan had great taste in music. He enjoyed rocking out to Ozzy Osbourne and singing along
to favorites like "Senorita," "Thunder," and "Creep." He loved swimming and treasured beach
trips with his grandparents, brothers Ryan and Nathan, and cousins Niyeli and Milo – days filled
with sunshine, laughter, and memories that will live on forever.
In 2019, Jonathan shared a special family trip to Disney, visiting Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal
Kingdom and Hollywood studios. He loved the magical adventure and the joy of being together,
creating memories that will always be treasured.
A passionate soccer fan, Jonathan loved futbol and proudly wore Lionel Messi's #10 jersey. At a
soccer camp at Trinity University, he eagerly showed off his skills and love for the game.
Naturally competitive, he also loved playing checkers with family, carefully planning each move
and proudly earning the title of family champion.
Jonathan was also a foodie at heart. He loved Starbucks pink drinks, Dr. Pepper, root beer,
sushi, his mom's homemade beef, rice and vegetable dinners, and his grandma's enchiladas
with Mexican rice and homemade lasagna. One of his purest moments was trying Dr. Pepper
cotton candy at Christmas - his eyes beaming with delight.
Despite everything he endured, Jonathan never lost his light. One of his favorite joys was
matching outfits with his Grandpoo, whether for trips to Dallas, special events, or doctor visits,
making each moment together feel meaningful. His dancing to the latest trends, love of gaming
and music, silly jokes, and his playful, goofy personality will be forever cherished by his
brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, and all who shared in his journey.
Jonathan attended Krueger Elementary School, where he loved math and proudly passed the
STAAR test. P.E. was his favorite class, where he could move freely and truly be himself. His
teachers remember him for his great sense of humor, playful tricks, and a smile and laughter
that lit up the room.
Jonathan dreamed of becoming a police officer or a firefighter one day – reflecting his brave
heart and desire to protect others. He also loved taking pictures of the sky, especially clouds
and sunsets, finding beauty in the world around him.
Jonathan is deeply loved and remembered by his devoted mother, Samantha Lynton; his father,
Pablo Aaron Arocha; his older brother, Ryan, and his younger brother, Nathan. He is also
cherished by his grandparents, Ino and Silvia Covarrubias; Sergio and Marissa Lynton;
Christopher and Leticia Talamantez; and Paul Arocha; along with his great-grandparents, aunts,
uncles, cousins, beloved pets, and many friends who loved him dearly.
We rejoice in the faith-filled promise that Jonathan is now made whole - completely healed and
fully restored in the presence of Jesus. His kindness, infectious laughter, courageous spirit, and
joyful presence will never be forgotten. As written in Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children
come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."
Jonathan now rests in God's loving embrace, forever cherished and celebrated. Though his time
on earth was far too short, his life was rich, meaningful, and deeply impactful. His courage, joy,
faith, and love will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
As you continue to worship Jesus up in Heaven, dear Jon, your light will forever shine brightly in
our hearts. We love you as much as the endless blue sky.
