Mr. Jonathan Barnes, age 44, a resident of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Perry officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born July 17, 1980, in Columbia, Tennessee; Jonathan was the son of the late Robert Barnes and the late Vickie Brubaker. Jonathan enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, woodworking, and riding his motorcycle. He was a loving son, brother, and father. Spending time with his family and friends brought him tremendous joy. He will be missed tremendously by all that knew and loved hm.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Colten Barnes, fiancé, Rebecca Morgan, stepson, Chase Morgan, stepdaughters, Whitlea Morgan, Josie Morgan, mother-in law, Debbie Dickey, father-in-law, Tim Dickey, and special friends, Bill (Wendy) Portwood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Barnes.
Pallbearers will be Bill Portwood, Chase Morgan, Colten Barnes, Jason McCain, Wayne Vandiver and Anthony Gonzales.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heritage Funeral Home.
