Jonathan Chris Battle

Jonathan "Chris" Battle was born August 30, 1962 to J.C. and Dorothy Battle in Jackson, Mississippi. He entered his eternal life July 12, 2024.
At an early age, Chris joined Lloyd Chapel. He attended various churches throughout the years before making Cade Chapel M.B. Church his home in 2019.
Chris attended Jackson Public Schools, and later attended Hinds Community College, and proudly received his GED in 2019. He soon returned to Hinds Community College to obtain a certification in carpentry. For many years he made a career out of rehabilitating homes. Whatever he touched, he made it his masterpiece. His passions included fishing, cooking and motorcycle riding. He also enjoyed drawing, dancing, and modeling in his early years.
He was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Battle; maternal grandparents, J.P. and Sadie Harvey; paternal grandparents, Joe and Alberta Battle.
He leaves to cherish his memories, mother, Dorothy Battle; three siblings: two sisters, Joyce Battle and Alberta Battle; one brother, Craig Battle (Sheryll); two children: son, Christopher Gates; daughter, Sherita Washington; six grandchildren, Christiana Gates, Ahlani Pitts, Jasamine Shaw, Clarence Shaw, Sariya Campbell, and Braylon Campbell; one great- grandchild, Jayden Burnette; special friend, Brenda Berry, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dearest friends.
