Jonathan D. Berr, age 58, of Eastampton, New Jersey, passed away on February 18, 2026.
Jonathan was an award-winning journalist who built a distinguished career covering business, finance, and media. Over the years, his reporting appeared in leading publications including Bloomberg News, Industry Dive, Forbes, Bisnow, CBS MoneyWatch, InvestorPlace Media, and MSN.
During his tenure at Bloomberg News, Jonathan received the prestigious Gerald Loeb Award, one of the highest honors in business journalism. He was also part of a team recognized with a New York Press Club Award for Internet feature writing.
While Jonathan’s professional accomplishments were many, his greatest pride and joy was his family. He was the beloved husband of Marci (née Gordon) Berr and the loving father of Jacob Berr. Jonathan cherished summers spent on family road trips and relaxing by the pool. Their home was always lively, filled with pets — a dog and numerous cats — and even livelier with conversation, laughter, and love.
An avid reader and devoted follower of news and politics, Jonathan was never happier than on election night, which he considered his own version of the Super Bowl. He was also a passionate fan of Philadelphia sports teams, cheering them on through every season.
Jonathan was the devoted son of Barbara (née Solomon) Berr and the late Stephen Berr; caring brother of Laura (Thomas) Brundage and Rebecca Steinberg; and cherished nephew of Steven (Olga) Solomon. He is also survived by his nieces and a nephew, Emily, Danielle, and Allison Brundage, Lauren and Benjamin Rickards, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to Funeral Services on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors, 6410 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 1901 Bridge Street, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
