“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those who transform into the Force” -Yoda

Jonathan Mark Jahnke, 56, proud lifetime resident of the Green Bay area, passed away after a short illness on July 19, 2024.

Jon was born on Christmas, December 25, 1967, and adopted as an infant by Wayne and Carol Jahnke. He completed their family by adding him to his brother Chuck and sister Ann.

After graduating from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, Jon attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College for Architectural Industrial Model Building before enlisting in the Navy. Upon his return he completed an apprenticeship, becoming a sheet metal journeyman with Local 18. Through his years in the trade, Jon worked in many different capacities from swinging the hammer to a project engineer. During this time he also was a night school instructor for the union’s apprenticeship program.

After marrying his wife Kristen Theilig in 2000, Jon experienced the two greatest accomplishments of his life, his kids. Samuel and Grace are his pride and joy and truly his living legacy.

Jon also had the privilege of sharing the last 23 years with his second family after meeting his birth mother Mary and her family, quickly finding his place in his “Milwaukee family” tree.

Jonathan is survived by his wife Kris, children Samuel and Grace, beloved Boston Terrier Bacon, mother Carol, brother Chuck, sister Ann Sargent (Joe), all of Green Bay, and his Milwaukee family, sister Toni Marsac (Steve), sister Terri Nolte (Bruce), brother Scott Pollnow, and father figure Allan Pollnow. In addition he has a plethora of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and of course chosen family who are too numerous to list.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Jahnke, and birth mother Mary Pollnow.

The family would love you to stop by his casual Celebration of Life to share your stories. Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM. Come and go as you please!
