Jonathan Terrell Maye

Jonathan Terrell Maye, 46, of Kalamazoo, Michigan died peacefully on October 9, 2022. Jonathan was born September 18,1976 in Battle Creek, MI to parents:. Loretta (Maye) Lee and Alphonza Maye. Jonathan married his loving high school sweetheart Towanda Whitten Maye May 16, 2002. During this union they were blessed with two sons: Jonathan Terrell Jr. And Xavier Terrell. two daughters which are both deceased: Tasharra and Jamira.
At the age of 12, Jonathan was baptized at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Battle Creek, MI under the leadership of Reverend William Young Jr. Jonathan attended Ann J Kellogg Elementary School and Northwestern Jr. High School in Battle Creek. Jonathan later attend Three Rivers High School where received his High School Diploma.
Jonathan attended Kellogg Community College briefly. He decided to pursue his dream career as an electrician.
He trained and worked with Lee Electrical Services under the supervision of Master Electrical Contractor Steven C. Lee. (Later became his Stepfather Jon was employed in other union and non-union jobs. His last employment was as team leader at Dimplex Thermal Solutions until his medical retirement.
Some of his favorite interests and hobbies are spending time with family and friends, bowling, Fantasy Football, and competitive games such as Dominos, Poker and Spades.
He is survived by his wife Towanda; sons Jonathan Jr and Xavier; mother, Loretta Lee (Steven); father, Alphonza Maye (Karen); sister, Kimberly; brothers, Christopher and Kyrone (Sessolee); step-sister Michele Lee and stepbrother Corey Lee. Father-in-law Tommie (katherine). Sister-in-laws Tonya Demeke (Brook), Tammy Whitten and Brandi Whitten and a host of aunts, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by Grandparents: Sanders and Violet Weatherby.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 West Dickman Road, on Monday October 17, 2022 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:30 am.
