Jonathan Kyle Runnels

Fountain Inn/Greer, SC -- Jonathan Kyle Runnels, 42, passed away on July 5, 2025 due to a motorcycle accident. He was the son of Shelia Runnels and the late John A. Runnels and the father of Ayden Runnels.
From an early age, Jonathan showed a natural talent for mechanics and an uncanny ability to understand how things worked. He began his career as a mechanic and later honed his skills in flooring installation, crown molding, and other forms of detailed craftsmanship. A true perfectionist, Jonathan took great pride in his work and never did anything halfway.
Outside of work, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved to fish, create and enjoy art, listen to music, play video games, and spend time playing ball with the kids. A kid at heart himself, Jonathan brought energy, imagination, and laughter to every moment.
Jonathan was known for his quick smile that lit up his whole face, his strong will, creative spirit, and tireless work ethic; he lived life with intensity and heart. Jonathan will be remembered for his fierce independence, his creative soul, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jonathan's greatest pride was his role as a father. He deeply loved his children, and his bond with them was unshakable.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Ayden Runnels, Tyra Hammons, and Adryan Krause; his sister, Jessica Sherwood and brother-in-law, Ian; his nephew, Wyatt; and the mother of his children, Timmi Krause, who shared many years of life and love with him; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who were exceptionally dear to him.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as his uncles; Ringo, Jerry and Jason.
Jonathan's Celebration of Life will be held at The Venue at Cherokee Valley on August 2nd at 2PM.
