While there, Jon worked in automotive sales, finance and insurance for two different Ford dealerships. After he moved back to Wisconsin, he joined the family business, Les Stumpf Ford. He later owned and operated L & S Truck, before retiring in 2018.
Jon had a great love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica. He was a professional fisherman and competed in many tournaments with Bruce Beecroft. Jon loved doing everything with the love of his life, Amy, from foraging for morel mushrooms, to attending concerts, to creating his culinary masterpieces, he found great joy. He loved and appreciated music and attended many concerts with his favorite being three Eagles concerts in the last couple of years. While at the lake he enjoyed the wildlife, birds and the beauty that surrounded him. Jon's family would like to thank the caregivers at ThedaCare ICU for their help and compassion in Jon's last days. A note of deep gratitude to Jon's dear friend Kathy Murray, who stayed with him until the beginning of his new life.
Even though his last days on Earth may have been fraught with pain, he was incredibly grateful, appreciative and kind to those who provided him with care and compassion; truly completing his earthy journey as Mr. Congeniality.
Jon's greatest wishes would be for us to strive to live and act with kindness and compassion to everyone's different journeys in this life, loving them where they are, for who they are.
