Jone B. Antenucci

Jone passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on September 4, 2025, in Traverse City, Michigan at the age of 87. Jone was born to the late Fred and Augustine (Palmisano) Madlinger in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 21, 1938. Following her high school graduation, Jone went to work for the State of Michigan in the office of Vocational Rehabilitation as an administrative assistant. It was here that she met and married the love of her life, Basil L. Antenucci, on September 13, 1958. The two of them resided in Livonia, Michigan for many years and raised a family of two boys, whom Jone adored dearly. The family relocated to Eagle, Michigan after Basil was promoted to Director and relocated to the Lansing main office. After retirement, Jone and Basil relocated themselves to their home in Northport, Michigan. They shared 53 amazing years of marriage together before Basil's passing in 2011. Jone then moved to Traverse City, Michigan, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Jone obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Arts from Lansing Community College at the age of 47, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She worked several positions at the State, finally landing as an analyst for the Office of Women and Minority Business Owners. She remained with them until her retirement in 1987.

Some of Jone's favorite hobbies included quilting, painting, art, traveling, golf, and most importantly spending quality time with her family and friends. She belonged to numerous clubs including an Ikebana Club where she mastered floral arrangement presentation, working as a volunteer at Interlochen, and as a member of the Chelsea Lane Artist Club.

Jone is survived by her children, Todd (Amy) Antenucci and Brett (Karen) Antenucci; grandchildren, Francesca (Rob) Bakerian, Sam Antenucci, Jake Antenucci, and Natalie Antenucci; sister, Betty Luzynski; sister in law Marilyn Madlinger; and brother in law, Raymond (Nancy) Antenucci. Jone is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Basil Antenucci; parents, Fred and Augustine Madlinger; brother, David Madlinger.

A Celebration of Jone's Life event is scheduled for September 14th, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park, Traverse City, MI.
