Dr. Winfred and Adelle Bridges
March 7, 2026
Amelia:
This is Dr. Winfred Bridges, Lagena (Bridges) Powell's brother.
Just wanted to say how sorry I am with your loss of Jonell.
Perhaps you will remember that your mom and dad let me stay at their house and took care of me when I was sick with pneumonia while I was working and going to UT there in Memphis.
I have always cherished that memory and will never forget their kindness.
Prayers for you and the rest of the family in the days ahead.

lance and Lynde:
This is Dr. Winfred Bridges, brother of Lagena (Bridges) Powell.
I knew your mother way back in the late 1950's. She, another friend of Lagena's, Lagena, my dad, and I took a trip to New Mexico to see my brother, Sam, who was in the Air Force then.
I came to know your mother well on that trip. Jonell was one of the kindest, most gracious, and sweet persons I have ever known.
Over the years when I saw Jonell with Gilbert, she was always the same - sweet, good, and kind.
I know you will miss her. So many people she touched will also.
My wife, who also knew your mom, and I will be praying for you all in the days that follow.
