Joni R Hutton

Joni of Chehalis, WA passed away at the age of 71. Joni was the beloved daughter of the late Betty J. Hutton and John R. Hutton Sr.

A graduate of Hudson's Bay High School class of 1972, Joni dedicated more than two decades of her life to the Washington State Department of Transportation and had many stories about working roads on Mount Saint Helens days before it erupted. She also devoted several years caring for her mother until she passed in 2024.

Joni had a passion for all things creative: leather work, beading, poster art, collecting, antiquing and playing guitar. She loved her loyal big dogs, Kidder and Roxy. Joni lived most of her life in Vancouver but recently moved to rural Lewis County WA, where she loved everything the outdoors had to offer.

She is survived by her sister Rhonda Hutton, brother John Hutton Jr., roommates, Judy House and Michelle Manios, and many cousins and friends. The family is sincerely grateful to the many friends and extended family who provided support and comfort these past 18 months and extend heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated volunteers and dogs from search and rescue and beyond.
