Jonnie Agresta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home on Jun. 26, 2025.
Jonnie Agresta. 86, a lifelong resident of Williamstown, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Jonnie lived a wonderful and amazing life of love with his wife Sandy for over 50 years, along with their three boys, Jon, Jimmy and Stephen truly the focus of his life. As a father, grandparent, and great grandparent he was admired and loved deeply by all. Jonnie was a compassionate, caring person and anyone who met him loved him instantly.

Jonnie was a business owner in Williamstown for over 40 years where he owned and operated Agresta Oldsmobile Pontiac Buick GMC and Agresta Cadillac Chevrolet in Hammonton. He was recognized nationally for years as being a high-performance leader in the industry. He served on many advisory boards over the years lending his knowledge to help dealers business grow and prosper.

Jonnie's true love besides his family was gracefully playing his music at Our Lady of Peace Parish and to its huge extended family where he performed every week for over 75 years. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a former Rotary Club member of Williamstown. Jonnie was honored to serve on the Board of Directors of Monroe Savings Bank for over 25 years

He played and sang for thousands of masses, hundreds of funerals and weddings and gave it his all every single time. He believed that the music he played during worship could touch people in certain ways, memorably and enhance their experience in faith. And there is no doubt he accomplished that with elegant detail

Jonnie is predeceased by his wife, Santina and son Stephen. He is survived by his sister, Katheryn Corrigan. As well as his sons; Jon Agresta (Dana) and Jimmy (Michelle) Agresta; his grandchildren, Vincent Agresta, Jordyn (Joseph Mark) Armata Jr., Jonnie Agresta, Aaron Agresta, Elliott Agresta and Austin (Michaela) Agresta and his great grandchildren, Joseph Mark Armata the 3rd and Santino Armata.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewings on Monday, June 30th from 5:30 – 8:00 PM and Tuesday, July 1st from 9:00 – 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's R.C. Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Williamstown.

I remember that Jon played piano for the student choir performance of the "Halleluiah Chorus" at the Christmas Assembly when I was a Junior and he was a Senior at Glassboro High School. After college, I sang in the Choir at St. Mary's which he had just started. He encouraged us (even those of us who were novices) to sing as a way of praying. Ever since then music has been a part of my worship, even when I am not in church.

May God bless Jon with a special place in His choir. I am so grateful to have known him. May God comfort you in your loss with his beautiful music in your hearts.
