Jordan James Binnie
April 24, 1997 - June 3, 2025

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18

With broken hearts but unshakable hope, we announce the passing of Jordan James Binnie, who was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on June 3, 2025, at the age of 28.

Jordan was born on April 24, 1997, in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up full of life, laughter, and an uncontainable energy that lit up every room. The youngest of five kids, he loved keeping up with his siblings and always brought the fun and laughter. He graduated from Johnston High School, where he was a proud and passionate athlete. Whether on the basketball court, soccer field, football field, or baseball diamond, Jordan brought heart and hustle.

Jordan never met a stranger, made friends effortlessly, and had a special way of making others feel seen, valued, and included. One of his most beloved stories, shared by family this week, was how he went on a mission trip to Haiti in high school, took a suitcase full of clothes, and returned with only two shirts because he had given everything else away.

Although the pain is great in having to let Jordan go, we know with confidence that through Christ’s redeeming love, Jordan is now whole, healed, and fully restored in heaven, just as God intended him to be. As his brother Jimmy said this week, “I can just imagine him with his arm around Jesus.”

Jordan is survived by his loving parents, Jim and Debbie Binnie, four siblings Jimmy, Chandra, Chelsea, and Julia, along with 14 nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved son, Jordan James Binnie Jr., age 3, who carries on his father’s name and legacy. Jordan’s family circle includes grandparents Larry and Betty Perry and Jim Binnie, along with a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched deeply.

Through this painful week, the Binnie family has been upheld by a community overflowing with grace, prayer, and love. The unwavering faith shown by his parents and siblings has been a profound witness to the hope found in Jesus. Jordan’s choice to be an organ donor gave the gift of life to people in their greatest hour of need.

A Celebration of Life visitation will take place on Monday, June 9 at Northpoint Church in Johnston beginning at 11:30 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Jordan are welcome to come honor his life. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Please go to Jordan's obituary page at www.IlesCares.com for the link and to leave online condolences.

Jordan, you were deeply loved, and you always will be. Though life is a breath, your impact was vast and lasting. We hold tightly to the promise that we will see you again.
