Jordan Ross Miklowitz, 35, of Niskayuna, NY, passed away on August 15, 2024, in Albany, NY. Born on July 27, 1989, to the late David and Kathryn Miklowitz, Jordan was known for his quick wit, thoughtful nature, and analytical mind. His ability to bring laughter and insight into the lives of those around him was a testament to his vibrant spirit.
A proud graduate of Niskayuna High School, Jordan carried his love for learning and exploration to Jacksonville University, where he furthered his education. His intellectual curiosity was not just confined to academia; Jordan had a passion for fishing, a hobby that allowed him to embrace the tranquility of nature. He was also an avid collector and connoisseur of antiques and coins, finding joy in the history and stories behind each piece.
Jordan's interests extended to the latest in technology and research, which he enjoyed immersing himself in. His generosity shone through in his eagerness to help others, often putting the needs of friends and family before his own. Jordan had a good heart, one that felt deeply and loved unconditionally, especially when it came to his beloved nephew and niece, Bo and Moon Miklowitz. His interactions with them were filled with affection and laughter, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
Jordan's life was a journey marked by both light and shadow. He bravely faced the challenges of living with a chronic mental illness, which he confronted with courage and resilience. His struggle, however, does not define the rich tapestry of his life nor the indelible mark he left on the hearts of his brother, Brent Miklowitz, his sister-in-law, Alicia, and the many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Those who knew Jordan will remember a man who was not only funny and thoughtful but undoubtedly authentic. His insights and humor were gifts that he shared generously, enriching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Funeral services will be held privately for family and close friends.
The family would like the public to know that help is available. If you are in crisis, please call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, 988.
Memorial donations in Jordan's name may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at https://afsp.org/.

Jordan and I met at Ellis Pros about 5 years ago. He was a special individual to me, someone whom had a really genuine charm to him, instantly likeable, something that was and is scarce but will forever remain appreciated. It's not everyday you meet people who unintentionally challenge you to learn to be okay with letting your walls down and letting people in, and that's something I will always keep with me as a blessing, just as it was a blessing to be able to meet Jordan and call him a friend, even if it was but for a short time as life took us both in different directions.

Jordan, thank you, you changed my life for the better just by giving me the confidence to bear my soul to everyone around me and learn to be okay with doing so, I am always grateful to you. Goodbye, my friend.
