Joretta Jasmer

Joretta (Jerry) Jasmer, 85, of Staples, passed away on June 4, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 16, 2025, at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Joretta, daughter of Willis and Lisabelle (Colombo) Arries, was born on May 31, 1940, in Grand Rapids, MN.
Jerry grew up in Marble, MN, then they moved to Aurora, MN, and she graduated from there.
Jerry married Roger Jasmer on July 2, 1960, in Minneapolis, they settled in North Saint Paul.
They moved to Aldrich in 1974, In 2003, she moved into Staples.
Jerry worked at Palmers Accounting Service, then had her own bookkeeping service, JJ Bookkeeping.
Jerry was the bookkeeper for the St. Fredericks Catholic Church in Verndale; for St. Michael's Church in Motley and then the auditor. She belonged to several circle groups and was president for awhile for a circle.
She enjoyed playing cards and dice and being with family whenever she could.
Jerry is survived by her children Dan (Sara) Jasmer of Glenwood, Cathi (Lonny) Dumpprope of Motley, Ruth (Donn) Stolhanske of Eagan, Craig (Diane) Jasmer of Aldrich, her sister Mitzi (Mike) Morris of Makinin, her brother Jim Arries of Aurora, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roger and her parents.
Arrangements are entrusted to Halvorson Taylor Funeral Home, Staples.
