Jorge Desousa, 89, of Jersey Shore, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025 at his home.
He was born on September 9, 1936 in Azores, Portugal. He was a son of the late Enrico Rodrigues and Rita Leontina (Martin) Sousa. Jorge was a member of the Portugal Air Force and served in Angola from 1959 to 1974. He had worked at Prince Macaroni Manufacturing in Lowell, MA and was also a sanitation director from 1986 to 1992. He was Catholic by faith.
Jorge is survived by two sisters; Amanda Blair of Oveila, FL and Joyce Walker (Jerry) of Loganton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers; Hildebrando Rodrigues, Orlando Rodrigues and Crolos Rodrigues and sisters; Rosa Titus and Bertile Jackman.
In keeping with his wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
