Jorge Hernandez is survived by his beloved wife Laura of over 67 years, daughter Sylvia Quinones and 3 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Jorge was born in Lares, Puerto Rico to Magdalena Rodriguez and Juan Tomas Hernandez on April 15, 1935. In 1956, at the age of 21 years old, he considered joining the military but his sister,

Candita Ramos, sent him airline tickets so he could leave his family farm and move to Brooklyn, New York and stay with his sister Luz Maria Perez. After meeting and falling in love with Laura, they married on September 6, 1958. Jorge found work in a couple factories, but landed his career as a machine operator with Micro Essentials. Jorge was always known as a loyal hard worker and retired in 1997 at the age of 62 after working for Micro Essentials for 37 years. Jorge spent his 28 years of retirement traveling to spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids in Virginia, Ohio, and New Jersey. They all looked forward to his visits with anticipation of his love, attention, and time. Jorge loved to share his stories and experience new things with those he loved. Family gatherings won't be the same without his big smile and joyous laugh.

Jorge lived for Christ and his family. In Emmanuel Pentecostal Temple in Brooklyn, New York, he became a devout follower of Jesus and developed a strong reputation of

being a Godly man of character, trust, and integrity. He loved God's people and served in various ministries and volunteer positions. After moving to Long Island to live with his daughter, Jorge became a pillar at Elohim Christian Church in Queens, NY. Kind, caring, loving, righteous, helpful, generous, patient, gifted, and blessed are just some of the words used to describe Jorge Hernandez and his life here on earth. Thanks to the saving grace of God, we look forward to the day when we will be reunited with him in heaven and worship alongside him again. Jorge will forever be remembered and loved by all those who knew him.

A lunch visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1 at 12noon at Porta Coeli Funeral Home at 2801 East Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34743. Religious services will be

held on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00pm at Porta Coeli Funeral Home in Kissimmee, Florida. Jorge will be laid to rest at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery at 1717 Old

Boggy Creek Rd., Kissimmee, FL 34744 on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 12 noon.
