Jorge Enrique Villacis

Jorge Enrique Villacis, of New Haven passed away peacefully at E.W. & Lucille Cates House (Hospice of Marion Oaks) on June 19, 2025. He is the husband of his late wife Norma Mary Villacis. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, May 18, 1934, Jorge is the son of the late Eduardo Villacis and María Sanchez. He is the beloved father of Susy, Nelson (Ana), Otto (Haydee) Villacis, and the late Jenny Villacis. He is the last living brother of 7 siblings. Grandfather of Nicholas (Ashlica) and Natalie Villacis and caretaker of his beloved pets Charlie and Toby.
Jorge was the owner of two hardware stores in Guayaquil, Ecuador before making the move to New York. He was a maintenance worker at Rego Park Nursing Home in Queens, NY, where eventually his wife and children followed. He and his family settled in New Haven, CT where the first generation-American Villacis family was born. Jorge was greatly loved by his entire family, often referred to as "The Light and Life of the Party." His infectious laugh, enormous heart, and impeccable rhythm in his feet were the few of many reasons why he meant so much to everyone, and why he will be truly missed. His legacy lives on with every small prank, random laughter, and every beat on the dance floor, meaning we party on to celebrate his life.
Relatives and friends are invted to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday July 11, 2025 at 10:00am at Saints Aedan & Brendan Church: 112 Fountain St. in New Haven. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. We welcome flowers, or you can make a donation to Apostle Immigrant Services.
