Princeton-Dr. Jaime Alberto Oswaldo Ortiz Villacís (better known as Oswaldo Ortiz Villacís), 95, passed away on December 10, 2022 at his home. Born in Quito, Ecuador on January 30, 1927, he was the youngest of 8 children born to the late Olimpia Villacís and Amable Ortiz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elena Rodríguez; siblings, Leticia, Inés, Piedad, Aníbal, Jorge, Amable, and Fausto.
Oswaldo is survived by his 4 children, Paulina Ortiz and husband Javier, David Ortiz and wife Katy, Daniela Ortiz and husband Ricardo, and Esteban Ortiz and wife Julia; grandchildren, Stefany, Angie, David, Adriana, Mateo, Pablo, Juan Esteban, Camila, and Nicolás; and several nieces and nephews.
While in Ecuador, Oswaldo studied and practiced law before retiring. While practicing law, he became a member of "The School of Lawyers", a prestigious law group in Quito. Once he retired, Oswaldo and the love of his life, Elena, owned and operated their family-owned business "Papelería Misceláneos".
Oswaldo was always known for his sense of humor and kindness. He was indeed a family man. He loved his children and held a unique bond with his grandkids. He made each of them feel special and that they meant the world to him. Even the spouses of his children were made to feel that they were his own children. He had enough love in his heart for everyone and will be deeply missed.
A virtual memorial service in Spanish was held on December 12, 2022 and may be viewed on our tribute wall.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
