Josie is survived by her daughters, Amy (James) Byrum of Martinsville, and Christy (David) Whitesell of New Castle; grandchildren, Brittney (Cody) Richardson of Illinois, Lindsey Hancock of New Castle, Jessica Hancock of Spiceland, and Shauna (Collin) Adkins of Beech Grove; great-grandson, Barrett Adkins; brothers, Gene "Jerry" (Jacqueline) Rhoades, and Robert "Bob" (Janet) Rhoades; and step-children, Kim, Julie, and Rick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald B. Barger; and sister Cathleen Zervas.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned for a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral home in Spencer, Indiana.
The family would like to express their thanks to the Owen County First Responders and to Josie's neighbors at Amazon Lake.
