Jose Castro, also known as Joe, a loving husband, devoted father, and the heart of his family, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on April 30, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Castro, and their children: Alex, Joshua, Emma, Joanna, Angelina, Elijah, Hannah, Irene and cherished his three Grandchildren-Gigi, Gio and Jay. His legacy lives on through each of them-in their strength, their values, and the love he poured into their lives.
Joe was a man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication. Every decision he made, every hour he worked, was for the good of his family. He never sought praise, but his actions spoke volumes-showing his love through sacrifice, presence, and consistency.
Before he got sick and was diagnosed with kidney failure, Joe loved to spend hours working out and lifting weights in his free time. He was passionate about bodybuilding-always striving to get stronger, building up his arms, and proudly showing off his muscles to his kids. He had a powerful presence, and it showed not just in his physical strength, but in the way he carried himself.
Joe had a deep love for music. He always had speakers in the garage and in his car, and he loved to play his music loud-letting the bass hit, sharing his favorite tracks, and showing off his sound systems to friends and family. Music energized him, brought him joy, and was a big part of how he expressed himself.
He also cherished quality time with his family. Joe loved going camping, taking trips to Las Vegas, Laughlin, and especially going to the river. He valued those moments of adventure and fun, just being together in nature or on the road-making memories that his family will hold onto forever.
For many years, Joe and Virginia lived in Pomona and Ontario, California, andworking hard to build a better future. One of Joe's greatest dreams was to buy a home his family could truly call their own. Through years of determination and saving, that dream finally came true when they put a down payment on a house in Tulare, CA-a moment of pride that meant everything to him.
Joe was a devoted father in every way. He never missed a practice or a game. Whether it was baseball, soccer, or school events, he was always there-cheering from the sidelines, giving rides, or being the one his kids called first when they needed help. His commitment to his family was unmatched.
He was also the one behind the stove-the cook of the house, known for his incredible salsa and delicious meals. People from Ontario, Pomona, and Tulare knew and loved his cooking. His tacos and homemade dishes brought people together and left lasting memories. Everyone always asked for his salsa, and he was proud to make others happy with his food.
At home, Joe found joy in the simple things. He loved tending to his front and back yard, collecting tools, and building things in the garage. He had a creative mind-always fixing, repurposing, and figuring things out. Even though he never went to school for it, he had a natural gift for working on cars-his own and his family's. He knew things that many trained mechanics didn't, and he never hesitated to lend a hand.
Joe will be remembered as a strong, humble, and generous man who gave his all to his family, never stopped dreaming, and brought joy to every room he entered. His presence will be missed beyond words, but the love he gave and the life he built will live on in everyone who knew him. You fought the good fight Joe & now you´re in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

Joe was truly a kind and compassionate person, always willing to lend a helping hand with his family and others. I'll always remember his awesome tacos, rice, big smile while serving his customers & friends, and his love for his family. Joe´s memory will continue to shine in my heart, and his legacy of love and faith will live on. Though we mourn his absence, we celebrate his life and his journey with Jesus.

I´m praying for you Virginia, nieces and nephews & entire family.

With tons of hugs & love, Olga/auntie Olga
