Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home and Crematory - Muskogee on Dec. 5, 2025.
Janice Marie Castro (Pauvlinch), 61, of
Muskogee, Oklahoma, was born on January 10, 1964, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, to Joseph Patrick (Sr.) and Kathryn Mae Pauvlinch. She passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, at 4:20 a.m. in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her girls by her side.
Janice was a woman of extraordinary warmth, humor, and loyalty. She possessed a generous heart and a joyful spirit that made others feel instantly at ease. Her laughter was contagious, and her ability to find humor in everyday life became a cherished gift to everyone around her. She loved the Tampa Bay Rays, memes of questionable quality, and true-crime marathons-where she'd promptly fall asleep and then rewatch the same episode the next night, creating the longest investigation in history. Her beloved fur-babies, Snoopy and Bella, were never far from her side and brought her constant comfort.
Janice's memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends. Her laughter, her unwavering loyalty, and her ability to make life just a little more ridiculous-in the best way-will carry on in every heart she touched.
Above all, Janice's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her daughters Lauren Castro of New Brighton, PA, and Ashley Duwel (Pauvlinch) and husband John of Tampa, FL; her grandson, Rylan Vega, also of Tampa, FL; her bonus son, Austin Castro of Tarpon Springs, FL; her former husband, Joe Castro of St. Petersburg, FL; her brothers, Robert Pauvlinch of
Muskogee, OK, and Joseph Pauvlinch Jr. of New Brighton, PA; her nephews, Andy Pauvlinch and wife Heidi of New Brighton, PA, Brandon Pauvlinch and wife Rachael of Wampum, PA, Matthew Pauvlinch and spouse, and Bryan Pauvlinch of Beaver Falls, PA; her nieces, Lisa Dunham and husband James of Mooresville, NC, and Beth Pauvlinch of The Villages, FL; her sisters-in-law, Kathy Pauvlinch of Beaver Falls, PA, and Cindy Pauvlinch of
Muskogee, OK; and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Cassidy, Hayley, Tyler, Cayden, and Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn and Joseph Pauvlinch, Sr.; brothers, Edward Pauvlinch and John Pauvlinch; sister, Carol Johnson; and her nephew, Justin Pauvlinch.
We offer our deepest gratitude to Nurse Patty at St. Francis (Tulsa), who showed up for Mom with compassion, patience, and a heart big enough to carry us through her final difficult days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date-because she deserves a party done right.
In lieu of flowers, please send memes, snacks, and cancel your plans in her honor-she'd want you happily unproductive.
