Jose Cruz

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband, Jose "Willie" Cruz, who passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 77. He was born on October 8, 1948, in Emporia, Kansas and was raised in Topeka, Kansas.

Jose proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Jose was a hardworking man who always put his family first. His dedication and resilience were evident in every aspect of his life, from his years of military service to his daily acts of care and support. He believed family was the foundation of life and lived that belief wholeheartedly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Un Suk "Kim" Cruz; his son, Pete Cruz; his sister, Clara Ortega (Bernardo); and his brother, Edward Perez (Michele).

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Perez, his father, Pedro Cruz, and his sister, Mary Allen.

Jose will be remembered for his devotion and the warmth he brought to every gathering. His life was a testament to resilience, love, and service. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and oved him.
