Jose Guillermo Garcia Zavala, age 63, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at his residence in Alamo, Texas after a long battle with serious medical issues.
Born in Guanajuato, Mexico to parents Jesus Garcia and Ascension Zavala, Guillermo was known to many as Zapata because of his signature mustache. His joy of life will not come to an end as his family and friends will honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
He enjoyed the simplest of pleasures in life – a good meal, a classic ranchera song, an ice-cold beer and a ride on his beloved horse Lobo. His infectious laugh and sense of humor were gifts that led him to make friends with just about anyone, gladly giving the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. He will be fondly remembered and forever loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Celso, Manuela, Javier, Enrique and Josefina.
He is survived by his daughters, Victoria Garcia, Vanessa Sanchez and son-in-law Maico Sanchez, and Paula Luna, his grandchildren Maximiliana Sanchez, Benjamin Sanchez and Zamaria Merricks, his siblings Juventino and Ambrosio, and his spouse Margarita.
