Jose Rafael “Ralph” Hernandez, 49, of Uvalde passed away on May 3, 2024, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 10, 1974, in Uvalde, Texas to Josefa (Trevino) and Gustavo Hernandez, Sr.
He is survived by his mother Josefa Hernandez and stepfather, Antonio Hernandez of Uvalde; daughter, Analysa Hernandez of Uvalde; son, Jose Rafael Hernandez, Jr. of Uvalde; sister, Josefa Hernandez of Uvalde; four brothers, Gustavo Hernandez Tijerina of Allende, Mexico, Marcos Fernando Hernandez, Gustavo Hernandez, Jr. and wife, Erin, and Trinidad Hernandez and wife, Ana all of Uvalde; grandchildren, Eric Trevino, Orlando Bermea, and Baby Jacquez; his provider, Marisol Hernandez of Uvalde; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and sister-in-law, Diana Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 1 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Martin Hernandez, Jose Rafael Hernandez, Jr., Jeff Watkins, Norberto (Norby) Gutierrez, Diego Cardenas, Leonardo Hernandez, Ricardo Hill, and Gilberto Muñoz, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hector Escamilla, Scott Woodward, Jose Juan Sanchez, Trinidad “Teejay” Hernandez, Joaquin Guerrero, and Gustavo Hernandez, III
