Funeral Services for Jose M. Martinez, III, 51, of Plains, Texas will be Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plains, Texas with Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Family and Friend’s visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025 throughout the day followed by a rosary at 6:00pm in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Denver City, Texas.

Jose M. Martinez, III passed away on October 5, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. Jose was born on November 16, 1973 to Jose and Manuela Martinez, Jr. in Brownfield, Texas. Jose attended and graduated from Plains High School in 1992. After high school, Jose attended and graduated from Texas Tech University and earned a degree in Sports Medicine. He was also the Fitness Coordinator at Plains Clinic and Lifestyle Center in Plains, Texas. Jose married the love of his life, Cindy Lopez, on July 5, 2004 in Plains, Texas. He will be deeply missed.

Jose is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Jose is survived by his wife, Cindy Lopez; daughter, Bella Martinez; parents, Jose and Manuela Martinez, Jr.; brother, Joseph Martinez; sister, Jo Ann Martinez; 2 nephews, J.D. Martinez and Mark Martinez; and several aunts and uncles.
