Jose Luis Naranjo-Cortez, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, departed from this world far too soon and unexpectedly on April 20, 2025, in Fullerton, California. Born on September 13, 1978, in Michoacán, Mexico, Jose's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of many throughout his 46 years.
He grew up in the warm embrace of his family in Michoacán, Mexico, before they moved to California, where he attended Horizon High School in Santa Ana. His parents, Jose Luis Naranjo and Guillermina Cortez, were hardworking migrant workers who instilled in him the values of dedication and resilience. These traits shone brightly in Jose, as he stepped into the workforce immediately after his education, earning his Class A Driving License and embarking on a career in construction. His commitment to his work was evident in the numerous big construction projects and roads he helped build, laboring tirelessly to provide for his loved ones.
Jose's life was a testament to love and commitment, especially to his six children: Joseph, Angel, Alexis, Daniel, Divine Naranjo, and Stephanie Arcos. They were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. A homebody at heart, Jose's greatest joy was coming home to his children, taking them to parks, beaches, and their favorite, Chuck E. Cheese. His laughter and warmth were the heart of family gatherings, where he enjoyed the company of his parents, five brothers-Miguel, Gustavo, Andrew, Alex, and Eric-and three sisters-Mary, Karina, and Daisy-as well as his adoring nieces and nephews.
Jose's passion extended to the world of classic cars. His love for restoring them was more than just a hobby; it was a form of art. He took great pride in bringing these vehicles back to life, driving them with pride, and then moving on to his next project with the same zeal and enthusiasm.
Those who knew Jose Luis best would describe him as caring, loving, and generous. His humor was a light in the lives of those around him, and his generous spirit knew no bounds. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and he found joy in making a positive difference in the lives of others.
His untimely departure leaves behind not only his children and parents but also his siblings, who will miss his laughter and love immensely. The void left by his absence will be felt deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Jose Luis Naranjo-Cortez lived a life marked by love, hard work, and the unshakable bond of family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide his children and all who loved him. Jose Luis's life may have been cut short, but the impact he made will endure for generations to come.
As we bid farewell to Jose's, we reflect on the joy, laughter, and love he brought into our lives. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as we carry his spirit within us always. Rest in paradise for eternity, Jose Luis Naranjo-Cortez, until we meet again.
