Jose L. Ortiz, 55, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family after an illness.
Born in The Bronx, New York, on December 28, 1968, he was the son of Jose Ortiz and Sonia Figueroa. He attended New York City Public Schools. He was a recovery coach employed by Restoration Recovery Center, Inc. of Fitchburg, prior to his passing.
Jose was a congregant of Casa Plenitude de Vida Church of Fitchburg. He loved his community and loved to help anyone who may need it. Jose enjoyed salsa dancing and going for drives. His greatest joy was his family, always treasuring the times spent together.
Jose is survived by his wife Migdalia (Hernandez) Ortiz of Gardner; a son, Jose M. Ortiz of Gardner; a daughter, Daigelias Hernandez of Gardner; a brother, David Correa and his wife Roxanna; a sister, Denise Santiago and her husband Marco; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling Hours will be held Friday, July 26, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made on the funeral home website under Jose’s obituary to help ease the burden of funeral costs on the family.
José L. Ortiz, de 55 años, de Gardner, murió pacíficamente el martes 23 de julio de 2024 en su casa rodeado de su familia luego de una enfermedad.
Nacido en El Bronx, Nueva York, el 28 de diciembre de 1968, era hijo de José Ortiz y Sonia Figueroa. Asistió a las escuelas públicas de la ciudad de Nueva York. Era entrenador de recuperación empleado por Restoration Recovery Center, Inc. de Fitchburg, antes de su fallecimiento.
José era congregante de la Iglesia Casa Plenitude de Vida de Fitchburg. Amaba a su comunidad y le encantaba ayudar a cualquiera que lo necesitara. A José le gustaba bailar salsa y dar paseos en auto. Su mayor alegría fue su familia, atesorando siempre los momentos pasados juntos.

El Horario de Llamadas se llevará a cabo el viernes 26 de julio de 2024, de 15:00 horas a 19:00 horas en Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Los servicios funerarios seguirán a las 19:00 horas en la funeraria.
