Publish in a newspaper

Jose A. Ruiz Sr., 85, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on November 2, 2025 at his home in Toledo. He was born on January 27, 1946 to Teodoro and Maria (De Los Angeles) Ruiz in Doctor Arroyo, MX. He was happily married to his loving wife, Amelia, for many years until her passing in 2019. Jose was a high school graduate and retired from Playbell Rubber. He was also a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Toledo. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, playing pool and walking. He was known as a loving man and was very family oriented. He will be missed by many. Jose Angel Ruiz Sr. was a simple man who found great love and joy for things in life that couldn't be bought. He loved his Lord and Savior first and foremost and knew to fall on Him when times grew tough. He loved his music which proved evident with his CD's, tapes, and albums found throughout, and never missed a chance to sing a note or two with his brothers when given the opportunity. You could find him sitting quietly watching his novelas, game shows, and his ever favorite, baseball. He loved a good phone conversation with his family near and far always ended the conversation after the phone hung up with a quavering "Dios te bendiga". Jose was an avid collector of anything but always enjoyed a new pair of boots, a hat, or belt with an ornate buckle. Jose was a man whose heart was as big as his smile. He cherished his family above all else, always finding joy in the moments spent together. To his children, great and grandchildren, and all who knew him, Jose was the heart of the family - kind, loving, and full of life. His legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness will continue to live on in each of us, hasta el fin.
Jose is survived by his children, Elena (Garland) Scarberry, Jose (Diana) Ruiz Jr., Rigoberto (Trisha) Ruiz and Imelda (Felix) Blanco; siblings, Juanita Hernandez and Mariana Mata; 19 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Amelia; and son Teodoro Ruiz.
Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, November 12 and Thursday, November 13 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held at St.s Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 738 S.
