George Luis Ruiz was born on August 26, 1948, to Ramon S. and Rosa (Mauricio) Ruiz. At the age of 77 on October 30, 2025, he went peacefully to be with the Lord. He fought the good fight of faith surrounded by his family.
George was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and pastor to Faith Family Life Church in Three Rivers. He married Margie Garcia on April 11, 1997, in Three Rivers and lived a life full of purpose and faith, sharing his love for God with all people. He worked as a brakeman/conductor for Union Pacific Railroad for 38 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. After retiring in 2008, George found great joy in riding horses, working cattle and living life on his ranch, Dos Corazones Ranch.
George will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to God, the example he set through his life. “He was a man after God’s own heart." Acts 13:22
He was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Ramon and Rosa Ruiz, and his brother, Juan Ruiz.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 28 years, Margie Ruiz; and seven children, Sonia Ruiz, Sarah Sauseda, Sylvia Ruiz, George Michael Ruiz, Stacie (Jason) Gonzales, Roxana Lara and Kathy (Jimmy) Cisneros. He was also blessed with 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; as well as four siblings, Delia (Damacio) Ruiz, Arturo (Mary) Ruiz, Gloria Ruiz Schmidt and Amelia R. Bartlett; and numerous nephews and nieces who adored him. His family will forever carry his strength, wisdom and faith in their hearts.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers with a prayer service from 7 to 8:30 p.m. led by Brother Rick Perez.
The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, with Tammy Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Whitsett.
Pallbearers will be George Michael Ruiz, Stephen Flenner Jr., Qristian Bland, Grant Sauseda, Logan Knight, Jacob Rósales, Stevie Guajardo and Jacob Schmidt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Maxwell Sauseda, Luke Knight, Lucian Ruiz, Killian Ruiz, James Padrón, Cameron Padron and Zachary Ayala.
