Jose Angel Torres Padua

Jose Angel Torres Padua, age 59 of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born on October 13, 1966, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Jose led a life characterized by hard work, generosity, and a deep love for his family and friends. Jose dedicated many years to his career as a semi-truck driver for RDF Logistics, where his commitment to excellence was recognized by colleagues and peers alike. Previous years of his employment were spent working at Eberhard Manufacturing.
He was a proud graduate of Domingo Aponte Collazo, and having attended the Inter American University of Puerto Rico in San Germán, Jose cherished the values of education and community. He was an active member of the Latin American Motorcycle Association, serving as the President of the Lorain Chapter, a role that complemented his loyalty and love of brotherhood, riding motorcycles and traveling the open road.
Jose was known for his vivid enthusiasm for life, which was best illustrated through his hobbies. He relished the joy of eating good food and enjoyed spending time with the people he loved the most, particularly his children and grandchildren. His memory is painted with beautiful moments shared with his children Kayla Torres and Kara (Cinthia) Torres, stepchildren Justin Snider and Sierra Lewis, and the laughter of his grandchildren Trenton, Chloe and Andre; which were his entire world.
Family was paramount in Jose's life, and his kindness extended beyond immediate relatives. He is survived by his beloved parents, Jose Mateo Torres Valentin and Gloria Esther Padua Torres, and his loving sisters, Lourdes (Alberto) Torres Padua, Ivellisse (Omar) Torres Padua; nephew Omar (Amarilys) Cubano Torres and Amauris (Marlene) Cubano Torres; nieces, Lorrianne Ruiz Torres and Morgan Robinson, and great-nephew Jayden Cubano Torres. Ex-wife and close friend Celena Torres and sister in law Natalie (Anthony) Catherman. He always felt that the Dowdy family was his family away from Puerto Rico.
Visitation will be held at Dovin Funeral And Cremation Specialists in Lorain, Ohio, commencing with visitation on December 18, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mass will be held on December 19, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists handled the arrangements.
He will be remembered not only for his love, loyalty and compassion; but also for his giving spirit and the many lives he touched. Jose Angel Torres Padua will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
