Jose Vazquez Obituary

Vazquez, Jose A.
ALBANY - Jose A. Vazquez, 67, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was born in Puerto Rico on July 20, 1958, to the late Saustino Vazquez and Carmen Sotomayor. He was raised in N.Y. and N.J., going back to Puerto Rico for a few years, before graduating high school in N.Y. He joined the Army infantry in 1978, and was honorably discharged in 1982. In 1992, he moved to the Albany, N.Y. area, where he took great pride in all of his volunteer work, including Toys for Tots and working at the soup kitchen. Jose was a security guard for Rite Aid in downtown Albany. He loved taking pictures, was always playing music, especially his salsa music, and was a fantastic cook. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by all his siblings.
Jose is survived by his beloved girlfriend, Sandra Cole; and by all his close friends.
Jose has been privately cremated, and services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any children's charity. Arrangements by the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Albany, N.Y 12209. Condolences can be posted at www.danielkeenanfuneralhome.com
