Josefina Lira Flores, 77, of Uvalde, Texas passed away on September 23, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
She was born on September 18, 1948, in Uvalde, Texas to Juanita (Zapata) and Cecilio Lira.
Visitation will be held on Saturday Sept. 27, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with a rosary at 7 p.m. on both days.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
She married Fausto A. Flores in June 1966 in Uvalde, Texas.
She is survived by her three daughters, Odilia Rodriguez and husband, Armando, Rosemary Flores and husband, Alberto all of Uvalde; Senovia Cuellar and husband Roland of San Antonio; five sons, Fausto Flores III and wife, Criselda of Pearland, Daniel Flores and wife Ida of Alice, Israel Flores and wife Maria of Missouri City, Alejandro "Alex" Flores and Joe Flores and wife, Diana all of Uvalde; four sisters, Eusevia Martinez , Julie Gonzalez and husband, Daniel, Mary Lira and companion, Pablo, and Aurelia Vasquez all of Uvalde; two brothers, Guadalupe Lira and wife, Linda of Corpus Christi and Magdaleno Lira of Uvalde; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Eriberto “Eddie Flores and brother Juan Lira; and two sisters, Jesusa Flores and Conception Lira.
Pallbearers will be Joe Anthony Flores, Alexus Flores, Alberto "AJ" Flores, Alex Flores, Clyandros Buentello, Armando Rodriguez and Kevin Cuellar.
Honorary pallbearer will be Christian Flores.
