Joseph Abney Obituary
Joe was a lifelong tool and die maker. He loved to cook and feed others. Joe enjoyed his cigars and being in the sunshine. Family meant everything to him, and he loved to spoil his grandchildren.
He is survived by three children, Bobbi Jo (Nick) Miller, Angela Gesner, Derek (Kristin) Abney, two brothers, Glen Abney and Rick Abney, one sister, Rebecca Roy, sister-in-law, Mary Abney and brother-in-law Larry, Roy. Four grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller, Zachary Miller, Nathan Miller, and Taylor Rae Abney. Along with a host of nieces and nephews and special friend, Reva Bruns. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie Jack Abney and Betty Lou Casteel Abney.
Memorial services for Joe will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at Lakes Funeral Home. Family will be accepting friends from 4 pm to 6 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 310 S Limestone 4 West, Lexington, KY 40508.
