Joseph Alvary Obituary
excelled at everything he did. Which included, racing BMX bikes at the local and national level. His true love in life was music, he played drums in a local band and he also produced his own music.
Joseph was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and good friend to many. He is survived by his mother Melinda Gonzales, Stepfather Ignacio Reyes, brother Joaquin Reyes, grandmother Mary Terrazas, Godparents Ernie and Diane Ramirez, Uncle Enrique Gonzales, Aunt Angelica Ramirez, and cousins: Manuel Terrazas, Christopher Ramirez, Mark Gonzales, Crystal Gonzales, Erica and Julian Gonzales, and by many more cousins and extended family members, too many to mention all by name.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 5th, 4:00 to 8:00pm, at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93306. Mass will be held Thursday, November 6th, 9:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 9915 Ramos St., Bakersfield, CA 93307 with burial to follow. Father Dan will officiate.

Its getting close to a year and my depression hasn't gotten any better. I miss u with all my Hart bro. I carry a picture of u from third grade in my wallet with me every where I go. It makes me fill like u still got my back. I wish we could be chillan right now smoking a stoge but ur in a better place looking over us. I'll just have to wait for our paths to cross agin. The other day when I moved my desk I found your obituary that I had cut out and then couldnt find. I was so happy that I had found out, I opened up a book that I have put other special papers in, coincidentally I opened up right to a page that had a picture of a sweet angel that had passed many years ago. Something made me believe in my heart that she was there when you arrived in heaven and she told you she was from Bakersfield too, from the same neighborhood and you might have even gone to the same school at one time. I felt this peace come over me.
You are thought of almost daily and missed greatly

Yesterday marked 5 months since you've been gone and there isn't a single day that doesn't go by that you aren't in our thoughts. My daughter misses you so much and yesterday she gave a speech about you and she said she felt you gave her the strength to not break down and cry.

Its been one month since Joseph's passing. I think of him everyday. When i'm driving home from work each night I think he probably drove down this street so many times before me. My daughter told me she dreamt of Joseph a few weeks after he passed & he said he was good. Joseph gave her a big long hug in the dream. My daughter was crying as she told me all about the dream. I told her not to cry because Joseph came to her in her dream to acknowledge the pain she felt from losing him. I know she misses him & thinks of him all the time. Today on the 1 month anniversary I gave her a special gift to honor Joseph.

Wadup Joseph it's Josh. For almost a year and half you were my ride or die my right hand man. We were to brothers that went everywhere and did everything together. People would always say u can't have one with out the other. With out u I find my self staring at something a zoning out reminiscing on all the good and bad times we had. I can still hear your voice in my head... I wish I could have told you how much I really loved you. I will always value are brother hood man. No one ever understood me the way you did. Losing you had a bigger impact on me than I ever realized it would. My daughter and you were very close friends and you meant the world to her. I saw her hurt like I've never seen before and I hope that you know in your heart that you meant so much to so many people include myself. My daughter told me how you were one of the nicest people she has ever known. She told me you were an awesome drummer and that you and her walked to school together for years. She told me some very sweet things you have said to her. Everything only made me wish you were here even more. She also said she wished she could just hug you one more time and tell you that you are loved. When you died you left a hole in her heart. I can tell you she will be a better person from all of this and will be a better friend to everyone. Days after your passing we found out you are related to us.
We think about you daily and i've prayed for you and I know one day we will finally all meet.
God Bless you Joseph. You will be sorely missed but until then we will treasure the memories of you.
To the family of Joseph I send my deepest condolences. To Joseph's dad I send all of my love and prayers for strength to you. You mean the world to us and if i could fix everything that has gone on in your life I'd take all of the pain and suffering you have lived through. Be strong Joe.
