Joseph J. Ammirato

Joseph Ammirato, 70, of Torrington, CT, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Joe was born September 2, 1953, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Porro) Ammirato. He was a builder and independent contractor of Four Seasons Sunrooms for more than 40 years. He was a very talented woodworker who enjoyed spending time in his workshop, golfing and classic cars. He was always willing to help someone in need. His favorite times were spent with family. 

He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Ammirato and Catie Ammirato, both of Torrington; their mother, Sandra Rogozinski of Torrington; one brother, Carmen Ammirato (Marlene) of West Hartford, CT; three sisters, Joanne Gerardi of Torrington, CT; Mary Ammirato (Charlie) of Florida, Patricia Roller (Wolf) of Torrington, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Michael Ammirato and twin sister Karen Paganini.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. Burial follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning, July 19th, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
