STERLING- Joseph P. Arduini, 97, of Sterling, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home. He was a spring operator for International Harvester Corporation retiring in 1976. Mr. Arduini was born March 18, 1914 in Rock Falls the son of Phillip and Antonette (Carrino) Arduini. He was united in marriage to Anna Beckman on July 21, 1934. She preceded him in death on September 15, 1984. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sterling. Surviving are his children, Michael (Patricia) Arduini of Remsen, Iowa, Carol (Ed) Halley of Sterling; a daughter in law, Marilyn Arduini of Sterling; a brother Tony (Arlene) Arduini of Rock Falls; 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by his sons, Paul Arduini, Jerry Arduini and a son in infancy; his brothers Paul Arduini, Jim Arduini, Ralph Arduini and Louis Arduini; and 2 sisters Sunday Pyse, Victoria Pierce; and a daughter in law Maureen Arduini; and 2 granddaughters and a grandson. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Thursday, March 15, 2012 in St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls with the Rosary at 6 PM. A memorial has been established in his memory to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
