Joseph John Baruffaldi

Joseph (Joe) John Baruffaldi, 78, of Lakeside, CA, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025,
with his beloved wife by his side.
Joe was born June 25, 1946 in Agawam, Massachusetts, the son of John and Grace
(D'Amico) Baruffaldi. Joe graduated from Westfield Trade School in 1966
Joe married Carol-Ann Megliola on August 3, 1968 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Joe and
Carol raised three children, Joseph (Jr.), Peter and Karen in Agawam and lived at their
house on Ley Street for nearly 50 years until the lure of their lifelong dream to explore the
country in a motorhome brought them across the United States seven times. They landed
in San Diego area to be near their grandchildren in 2017.
Joe worked as an Auto Mechanic for many years with positions at Center Pontiac and
Central Chevrolet before starting his own auto repair business, Longmeadow (MA) Auto
Repair. Despite his passion for cars and mechanics, his favorite work activities were spent
on the open road, driving for Peter Pan Bus Lines and Bridgeport National Bindery.
Joe was a member of Church of Christ, enjoying fellowship and worship with his brothers
and sisters in Christ in Chicopee (MA), West Springfield (MA) and the Johnson Avenue
Church of Christ in El Cajon (CA).
Remaining to cherish Joe's memory are his wife Carol, children, Joseph (Jr.), Peter and
Karen (Kershaw), daughters-in-law Monika Kwiatkowska, Doreen Baruffaldi and son-in-
law Stephen Kershaw; grandchildren, Sarah, Jenna, Lucca, Dante, Aiden (Kershaw) and
Logan (Kershaw); sisters, Donna Berthiaume and Debby Griffith; brother-in-law Bob
Griffith and sister-in-law Jo Bellew. He also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews,
and cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents John and Grace Baruffaldi and sister Betty Owen
(Baruffaldi) and many other cherished family members
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 10:30 am at the Church of
Christ, 523 S Johnson Avenue, El Cajon, CA 92020 and on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at
10:30 am at the West Springfield Church of Christ, 61 Upper Church Street, West
Springfield, MA 01089.
Memorial donations in Joe's memory may be directed to the American Heart Association
or United Cerebral Palsy.
