Joseph Thomas Baxter, 78, passed away July 18, 2024. He was born May 11, 1946 in Marshall, Arkansas. Joe resided in Butlerville when he passed away. He was an employee of Delta Airlines for thirty-two years. After retiring early, he went on to work for Prime Flight for several more years. After his retirement, Joe enjoyed the rest of his life with his family and community friends. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Saratoga based of out NAS Jax military base in Jacksonville, Florida. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel R. Bargiel of Maumelle; father, Robert L. Baxter and half-brother, Edward Baxter, both of Wilmington, Delaware.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Baxter; two sons, Joseph Baxter (Dusty) and Jonathan Baxter (Amanda) all of Butlerville; daughters, Cindy Oglesby (Calvin), Angie Walker (Steven), all of MacClenny, Florida; brother, Robert L. Baxter (Ellen) of Maumelle; grandchildren, Calvin Mahlon (Kayla), Tyler, Delaney Helms (Calahan) and Steven Walker (Kasey), all of Florida, Katey, James, Josie and Arlee, all of Butlerville; seven great-grandchildren who reside in Florida; nephews, Robert Baxter and Raymond Baxter, both of Maumelle; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; two great-great nephews; half-sister, Deb Newman; half-brother, Dan Baxter and their families in Delaware, Virginia and Kansas.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
