Joseph Thomas Biskup

Joseph Thomas (Buddy) Biskup, 87, of Buckholts, died Saturday, May 3, 2025, in a Temple hospital. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 10, at Hope Lutheran Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
Mr. Biskup, a retired blacksmith and welder, was born March 22, 1938, in Seaton, Texas to James (Jim) and Vallie Biskup. He married Joyce Foerster on June 8, 1968. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
He graduated from Rogers High School in 1956. After graduation, he spent some time helping on the family farm. He was then called to active duty in the Army and served 2 years overseas, 2 years in the National Guard and 2 years in the Army Reserves.
Joe was a hardworking business owner and operator of Biskup's Blacksmith and Welding in Buckholts, Texas. People would say he could fix anything. He was a member of the Buckholts Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years and served as fire chief for a few of those years. He was also a member of the Buckholts ISD school board for many years.
He loved his family and friends and loved to tell stories of the past. He especially enjoyed his grandkids and great grandkids and always tried to get a smile or laugh out of them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening for as long as he was able.

2 grandchildren, Jamison (Jamie) Hutka and Abigail of China Spring and Zachary Hutka and Savannah of Westphalia. 2 step grandchildren, Madison Sinclair of Temple and David Lopez and Laura of Belton.
6 great grandchildren (Fletcher, Jake, Cash, Hayes, Carsyn and Chet) and 2 step great grandchildren (Jordynne and Kaylee).
And numerous nieces and nephews
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Lawrence Graves, Jr., Jimmy Graves and Wallace Biskup, Sr., and sister Minnie Simcik.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family would like to thank the Baylor Scott and White Hospice team for their
care and support and Standards Home Health for all of their care over the last few
years.

a charity of choice.
