Joseph William “Grave Digger” Bragg, 95 of Cowen, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at United Hospital Center. He was born November 18, 1929 in Adrian, WV and was the son of the late Delbert and Minnie Lewis Bragg. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Sarah A. Bragg; all of his siblings, Bernard, Delbert Jr “Fore”, Mack, Charlie, Thelma, Ermil, Ross and Phillip.
He worked mainly construction jobs during his working years and had also worked as a grave digger for Joe Adams. He was a US Army Veteran; he enjoyed anything outdoors but especially ginsenging.
Surviving are his children, Bill Bragg and his wife Lora, Kim Compton and her husband Mike and Gary Bragg; three grandkids and two great grandkids.
Per his wishes there will be no services and he will be laid to rest next to his wife at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen.
