Joseph L. Braun

Joseph L. Braun, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away on December 26, 2024, He was born March 19, 1929, to Raymond and Mary (Ruesewald) Braun. Joseph graduated from Decatur Catholic High School and Saint Francis University. On May 26, 1962, he married Lois Markley, and together raised a loving family. Joseph worked for nearly 30 years at International Harvester as an Industrial Engineer. He also worked over 60 years as a realtor, founding Braun Realty. During his career, he received the prestigious Realtor Emeritus Award Status for his outstanding contributions to the community. Joseph was a member of St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Parish and the Knights Of Columbus. He is survived by sons, Michael J. Braun and Mark J. (Kathryn) Braun, both of Fort Wayne; and daughter, Michelle (Bradford) Riehle of Plainfield, IN; and eight grandchildren: Paul, Mary, Luke, Sara, and Theresa Braun, and Rachel (Austin) Bigelow, Eric and Kate Riehle. He is also survived by his three sisters: Betty Wellman, Phyllis (Norman) Rorick, and Doris Wyss Brite. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, and his sister, Jean Rauch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, 11521 US Hwy 27 S., Fort Wayne. Visitation will be held one hour before the Mass. Additional calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 3, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home on Lake Avenue, with a rosary at 6 p.m. Preferred memorials to Masses.
