Joseph Hugh Broglin

AHOSKIE, NC - Joseph Hugh "Joey" Broglin, born November 24, 1965, in Ahoskie, Hertford County, North Carolina, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Murfreesboro, Hertford County, North Carolina, at the age of 60.
Joey was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He spent his life working hard to make a living, washing cars at the car dealership, assisting at the service station, working at Roses department store, and doing lawn maintenance.
Throughout his life, Joey was known for his love of decorations during the holidays. His passion for cars was rivaled only by his affection for animals, particularly cats and dogs. Above all, he cherished his time spent with his beloved girlfriend, Betty Slayton, whose companionship brought him immense joy and comfort.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances Ann Willoughby Broglin and Harvey Joseph Broglin, Sr., as well as his sister, Greta Askew. He leaves behind his brother, Harvey Broglin, Jr., and wife Joan of Murfreesboro, NC, and his sister, Edna Marie Byrd, and husband Richard of Ahoskie, NC. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends will gather to honor Joey's life on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
