Joseph “Joe” Brown, a devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, and distinguished engineer, passed away peacefully at his home in Guyton, Georgia, on February 27, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and excellence.
Born on March 4, 1960, to the late Rev. Clinton Brown Sr. and Lillie Gay Brown Davis, Joe was raised in the Beulah Community of Sparta, Georgia. At an early age, he joined Second Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
Joe graduated from Hancock Central High School, where he excelled in football and basketball, earning a scholarship to Hampton Institute in Virginia. There, he obtained his engineering degree, played linebacker on the football team, and pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. in 1981. He later earned a dual engineering degree from Old Dominion University.
Joe's greatest joy in life was his family. His heart was on display in every moment he shared with them. A great supporter of his family, whether in sports or at family gatherings, Joe could always be counted on to tell a joke with a sly grin on his face.
