Joseph Bruno Obituary

Bruno, Joseph
MOUNT DORA, Fla. - Joseph "Joe" Mark Bruno, 68, of Mount Dora, Fla., passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, after a long illness.
Born on June 28, 1957, Joe was the beloved son of the late Senator Joseph L. Bruno and the late Barbara (Bobbie) Bruno.
Joe grew up in Glens Falls and Brunswick, N.Y. He carried with him a deep appreciation of the outdoors throughout his life. From an early age, he found joy in nature - a passion that would remain a constant thread in the years to come.
Joe was an avid hunter who felt most at home in the quiet stillness of the woods. In his younger years, he embraced adventure and the call of the river, working as a white-water rafting guide on the American River in Northern California. There, he shared his love of the outdoors and fearless spirit with countless others. He was also a gifted artist, creating many sketches and paintings throughout his lifetime.
Above all, Joe was a devoted father. He is survived by his beloved son, Aiden Joseph Bruno (19), who was the pride and center of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Susan (Bob) Goodman; brother, Ken Bruno; and sister, Kate (Rich) Hynes. Joe is also survived by his nieces, Rachel, Liza, Anna, and Tori Bruno; his nephews, Nicholas Bruno and Richie Hynes; and his great-niece, Alessandra Bruno.
Joe will be remembered for his adventurous heart, his quiet strength, and the love he had for his son, Aiden. His memory will live on in the stories shared of his great sense of humor and the peaceful moments spent outdoors, where his spirit felt most free. Joe will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the near future.
A special thank you for the compassionate care provided by the Elders of Mount Dora and the Advent Health Hospice team.

My most sincere condolences to all the Bruno family and to those who loved him. I had the pleasure to work with Joe and was impressed with his construction knowlege, oversight ability, attention to detail and amazing memory. I had many laughs with Joe and enjoyed his sense of humor. I am honored to have had Joe, not only for a son-in-law, but also a true caring and loyal friend. May he be at peace with our Lord.
