Joseph Buscaglia Obituary

Published by Radzieta Funeral Home on May 1, 2016.
Buscaglia, Joseph C., age 78, passed away after a recent illness on Sunday, May 1, 2016. A resident of Sea Isle City, NJ, Joe was born in Rosenhayn, NJ to Joseph and Elvira (Waechter) Buscaglia on December 27, 1937. A graduate of Bridgeton High School class of 1957, Joe was a man of many skills. If there was a task to be done, Joe knew how to do it. When he started it, he finished it. Over the years, he worked at Price Label in the book printing industry, in maintenance for Ocean City, and retired from the Woodbine Development Center in 2004. Moving to Sea Isle City in the early 80's, Joe loved his home on the bay where he could watch the birds, boats, and sunsets. Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He took many, especially his beloved grandchildren, on his boat for fishing and crabbing. From that bounty, he enjoyed preparing feasts of steamed crabs and deep fried seafood. Survivors include his wife, Gail (Homan) Buscaglia, whom he married July 27, 1957; daughters, Susan (Bruce) Davis of Allendale, NJ and Kim (Patrick) Browne Sr. of Stewartsville, NJ; grandchildren Meredith and Emily Davis, Amanda (Mike) Alfano, Colleen, PJ, Jessica and Katy Browne. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Buscaglia and sister Elvira Jiannone. There will be no visitation. Family and friends will gather to remember Joe in the near future. Memorial gift options include: New Jersey Nature, 2353 Delsea Dr/Rte 47, Delmont, NJ 08314, or, S.O.S. - Sea Isle City Cats Inc.4208 Landis Ave., Sea Isle City, NJ 08243, or, Animal Welfare Society, 40 State Hwy 47 South, Dias Creek, NJ 08210.

Gail, Sue and Kim
Words really can't convey our feelings and deep remorse at this time. Denise and I have spent a great deal of time these last several days recalling with great fondness all the good times spent with you on the shore.
When Pat and Kim married, who ever thought you'd be getting the entire Browne family as part of your own. You did, and the rest is history. Joe showed us the true value of family when he taught us how to jig for crabs and never refused to take us fishing in the harbor, or for a bowl of "she crab soup". Gail, you were the best sidekick and hostess and were never without your trademark smile and laugh.
Whether we slept on the floor, the sofa or in a spare room, the furnishings, food and good times were better than any hotel could have provided.
Although we haven't seen Joe for several years he will be missed, but always remembered as an uncomplicated, regular guy who smiled with his eyes. He was always ready to show us that a good time was really nothing more than fishing, crabbing, clams casino, beers and of course family.
All our love to you, Paul & Denise
