Joseph "Joe" Butts

Age 75, passed away at home on Tues. May 20, 2025. Born on July 30, 1949 in Elmira; son of the late, Joseph and Iva Mae Horning Butts. Joe was employed as a Steam Fitter for the Local 267 Union in Syracuse and retired after many years of dedicated service. Joe was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Moose, Elks, VFW and the NRA. Joe enjoyed fishing, motorcycles and caring for his treasured family. Surviving is his devoted wife, Sharon Reynolds Butts; three children, Timothy Butts, Kimberly Butts-Lane; Cynthia (Stacey Benton) Brown; six grandchildren, Amanda Butts, Erik Brown, Nicholas Brown, Alexander Lane, Zachary Brown and Olivia Lane; four great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Stephen, Miyah, and Joseph; his brother, Ronald Butts; and sister, Patricia Ayres. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his infant son, Jeffrey Butts; sister, Rose Marie Butts; brother-in-law, Walt Ayres; and sister-in-law, Barb Butts. In abiding by Joe's wishes, there will be no services.
