Mr. Joseph (Joe) Cappiello, 80, of Goodyear, Arizona passed away May 22, 2021 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born July 1, 1940 to Joseph Cappiello and Dorothea Riley in Brooklyn, New York. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965 as a SP4E/ Radio Operator. He worked for New York City, Department of Purchases for 34 years and retired as a Staff Analyst.

Joseph was a 4th degree member or the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Pebble Creek Model Railroad Club, and a founding member of the Pebble Creek Irish-American Club and the Pebble Creek Italian-American.

He is survived by his spouse, Elvira (Vera) Cappiello, his daughter, Cara Lohff and son-in-law Jason Lohff, and his sister, Kathryn Pfeffer, brother-in-law, John Pfeffer, niece Karyn Palladino and her husband, Chris, and their children, Mia and Adrian, nephews, Robert Cappiello and John Pfeffer and his wife, Yorleny, and their children, Andrew and Rebecca. Joseph is also survived by his three grandchildren; granddaughter, Zoe Cozzolino, and grandsons, Max Cozzolino and Kade Lohff. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert (Bob) Cappiello.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 18, 2021 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 800 W. Loma Linda Blvd. Goodyear, Arizona 85338. Interment will be held at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona following the memorial service at 1:30PM.

The family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of the West, Kare Bears, or to the American Cancer Society in Joseph's honor.
